Upcycling workshops are the perfect blend of creativity and practical skills. In these DIY workshops, attendees will learn sewing skills along side this, connect back with their hands. By trying a new creative outlet, we benefit from the mediative space that sewing workshops provide as well as making friends with other attendees. This workshop explores how to transform scrap fabric into unique, cute charms - perfect for bags, phones or keys. Using a mix of textures, colors, and embellishments, you’ll experiment with creative techniques to craft a statement accessory. Guided by designer Lydia Bolton, the session highlights the beauty of upcycling—giving discarded materials a stylish new life. Perfect for those who love fashion, creativity, and sustainable design.
If you’re a brand, we can incorporate using your own deadstock fabric or unsellable items so that the workshop is not only personalised to your brand but truely circular.
christmas decoration workshop
Learn how to make a festive Christmas decoration from unwanted materials. The decoration could be used in the home or turned into a key ring.
It’s a beginner friendly workshop that teaches attendees how to make their own custom decoration from a design of their choice or using the templates provided by Lydia. As this is a hand sewing workshop, it’s perfect for community or group workshops so attendees can chat and connect while sewing.
DIY tshirt
Workshop
This is a creative DIY workshop where attendees learn how to give a fresh look to an old tee. Through different techniques like embroidery, sewing on buttons, applique letters, patchwork and fabric roses.
This is a beginner friendly, hand sewing workshop and is the perfect way to get into upcycling both for creative individuals or as a corporate workshop.
Scrunchie WORKSHOPS
Unleash your creativity and join us at our scrunchie making workshops, where you'll learn how to transform second-hand textiles into cute accessories. Led by Lydia, in her studio, this hands-on workshop will guide you through the process of using a sewing machine and creating your very own unique scrunchie.

Patchwork workshop
Lydia has hosted patchwork workshops for Pinterest, River Island, Westfields, Lemon8 and others.
It’s a beginner friendly workshop that teaches attendees how to mend or customise using scraps of fabric. This hand sewing workshop is a great way to learn (or refresh your skills) on how to use a needle and thread, cover a hole or stain, add some personlisation and connect with the mindful and sustainable process of patchworking.
Couching
workshop
One of Lydia’s ‘signature’ workshops which she has taught at Westfields for their Good Festival, at Unilever as a corporate team social, at schools for students and many others.
Attendees learn how to customise and up-cycle an item of clothing or accessory using the technique of ‘couching’. It’s a zero waste technique that using scraps of fabric to decoratively embroider a design. Due to the hand sewing nature of this workshop, it gives a great opportunity for attendees connect back with their hands and mindfully be creative.

Create your own one-of-a-kind cushion at our cushion making workshops and explore the art of patchwork using second-hand fabrics, giving new life to pre-loved materials. You'll learn various techniques to design and sew together a unique cushion that reflects your personal style. Whether you're a beginner or experienced sewist, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to get creative and add a touch of handmade charm to your home decor.
Even the inner of the cushion is sustainable and is stuffed with tiny scraps and fabric offcuts.
